Call for Program for Beit Byout Festival: The Expanding

Beit Byout Festival will be the first larp Festival in Palestine. Palestinian larpers are building the larp community in Palestine; they are creating their own games now. The Palestinians are so excited about the festival, and this Festival will be a big opportunity to promote larp in the palestinian community.

We are looking for games and workshop that can be run at the festival, inspire people and expand the larp community in Palestine.

What do we want?

  1. We are looking for games that can inspire the players and promote larp in Palestine; the game can be educational, social, fun, with a purpose to highlight the discussion about certain topics or to show the different techniques used in larp design.
  2. We are looking for workshops on playing and designing larps, aimed at a basic level.
  3. Run other peoples games. If you have not written a game or made a workshop yourself, find a game you have played and liked, or recreate a workshop you have been to, and run it at the festival.
  4. It is preferable if the games submitted have a larp script, so the players can take it and run it again later. (if it doesn't, this is a great opportunity to write one)

Framework

  1. 80% of the Festival programs will be larps: chamber larps, black box larps and free form larps that can be run in a seminar room for a maximum duration of four hours. We will create a black box-ish room, but do not expect a fully functional black box.
  2. 20% of the festival program items will be workshops and practical techniques on larp design.
  3. There will be five tracks of program items running at the same time, four of them will be in English and one in Arabic.

If you think your program item will make a difference in the world, fill in the program item form and be part of the expansion at Beit Byout Festival.
